As a species, our knowledge, ability and understanding are increasing all the time. Are we uncomfortable with this? Why do we rebel against it?

As we enter the second decade of the third millennium the woomongers are doing a roaring trade. Is it a surprise to see so many people blithely jump on the anti-science bandwagon, seemingly unaware that this is a serious threat to our wellbeing?
