What's the talk about?

Skeptic and legal writer Allen Green (@JackOfKent) will discuss what constitutes a "bad law", with examples ranging from witchcraft and blasphemy to prostitution and copyright. He will also discuss the need for libel reform and the progress of the Simon Singh case.

Allen Green is a Brummie. Having failed the 11+ for the various King Edward Schools, he went to a local comprehensive and sixth form college. He went on to study modern history at Oxford University and then law at Birmingham University. He has qualifed both as a barrister and solicitor. His work has been published in The Guardian, New Scientist, and The Lawyer.

Allen writes the Jack of Kent blog and is also convenor of Westminster Skeptics.
